What is Limitless Rendering?
Limitless Rendering is a self-service, on-demand rendering service providing rendering capabilities to architects and 3D modelers.
What is a render farm?
A render farm is a group of computers connected together and each one works on a small part of your render so your render gets done faster.
How do I transfer my data to and from your service?
Data are transferred through your standard Internet connection to our website over a secure SSL connection.
How do I access your rendering service?
All access takes places over the Internet through our website. From your account page, you can submit new renders, see your previous renders, adjust rendering settings, and download completed renders.
How do I use your rendering service?
For specifics on rendering settings, downloading final renders, post-render adjustments, and more, please visit our detailed instructions.
How do I get an account?
You can sign up for your FREE account here and get 15 FREE credits!
What happens when I cancel my render?
You will not be charged for any render time used for a canceled job. You may cancel the job at any time up until it completes.
What if I don't have enough credits for the job?
Your render job will still complete and you will be able to see the preview of job. However, you will not be able to download the full image until you settle your account. As soon as you have added enough credits to your account, you will instantly have access to your full rendered image.
Is this secure?
Our systems are secured with a combination of the following: 1) physical security with two-factor authentication by authorized personnel only; 2) network security with state-of-the-art firewalls and intrusion detection; 3) traffic security where all access to your cluster is encrypted; and 4) data security where any on-site or off-site backup data is encrypted.
Who owns the data?
You do! You maintain ownership of all data uploaded to our servers and all images rendered. We are not considered to be a third party in lease contracts. You will not need additional provisions with your data provider to host your data with us. We do not have people analyzing your data or accessing your data because our system is primarily self-service.
The preview image looks like the camera has moved, how do I fix it before I submit the job?
This requires adjusting the camera. An example for adjusting the camera was provided courtesy of Hilliard Architects.
What if I do not like my image?
Please double check:
- You selected "Interior" if your image is an interior image
- Your exposure value matches your exposure value in Revit
- If your camera has moved, you will need to adjust your camera
What if I have checked all my settings, and I still do not like my image?
We strive for 100% customer satisfaction. If there is a serious problem with the rendered image beyond basic adjustments mentioned above, let us know and one of our experts will do their best to ensure the image is to your satisfaction. If the image is unsatisfactory, please provide us with sufficient information regarding the reason why and request a refund in the amount of the rendered job within 30 days.
Limitless Clusters FAQ
- Will I still be able to control my cluster?
- How do I transfer my data to and from my cluster?
- How do I access my cluster?
- How long will it take to build my customized cluster?
- Is this a cluster rental service?
- Is this cloud computing?
- Are clusters secure?
- What is the response time to any problems with my cluster?
- Will I be charged extra for the rapid response to any cluster problems?
- Will my computer be part of my cluster?
- Will Limitless Computing work with my preferred vendor?
Will I still be able to control my cluster?
Absolutely! We only take care of your cluster and ensure that it runs in optimal form. You still maintain complete control by accessing your system via the Internet. You execute code, control users, and get results.
How do I transfer my data to and from my cluster?
Data are transferred through an Internet connection that is customized depending on your bandwidth requirements. You may also choose to have very large data amounts couriered by our personnel. See how the deployment process works here.
One method is to use the client application available from your sales representative. Another option is to use a program to transfer files over the SSH protocol such as WinSCP on Windows or the scp/sftp commands on Linux. Using WinSCP, scp, or sftp requires a private key file that would have been e-mailed to you with installation instructions. Information on WinSCP is available on our Support Page.
How do I access my cluster?
There are three ways to access your cluster: a secure VPN connection, this website, or our client application. To access the secure VPN on Windows, you need an SSH client such as PuTTY. Linux users can use the ssh command. Using PuTTY or ssh requires a private key file that would have been e-mailed to you with installation instructions. Information on PuTTY is available on our Support Page.
How long will it take to build my customized cluster?
While the industry standard is 2-6 months, we average 1-3 months because this is our specialty. Our time frame, however, is dependent on the size and complexity of your cluster. See how the deployment process works here.
Is this a cluster rental service?
No, this is service where clusters are designed to meet your needs and then hosted in our facility. No preexisting cluster is rented and this is not a one-size-fits-all cluster. We offer these customized services.
Is this cloud computing?
In a sense, this is similar to cloud computing because you have full access to your supercomputer from anywhere. However, we do not have one-size-fits-all systems and everything is customized to your needs.
Are clusters secure?
Our clusters are secured with a combination of the following: 1) physical security with two-factor authentication by authorized personnel only; 2) network security with state-of-the-art firewalls and intrusion detection; 3) traffic security where all access to your cluster is encrypted; and 4) data security where any on-site or off-site backup data is encrypted.
What is the response time to any problems with my cluster?
Because your cluster is constantly monitored, problems will be dealt with rapidly. More support information is on our Support Page
Will I be charged extra for the rapid response to any cluster problems?
There is NO additional charge for this service. It is standard.
Will my computer be part of my cluster?
Personal computers are not used to process data on a cluster. Clusters are composed of dedicated high-end computer servers available from special vendors. These individual computers work together on a single task. Your computer can be used to access your cluster. Click here to learn more about clusters.
Will Limitless Computing work with my preferred vendor?
Yes, we customize clusters to your needs and will work with your desired vendor(s) for both hardware and software.
General FAQ
- What is a cluster?
- Is a cluster a grid?
- Can I benefit from a cluster?
- How do I learn more about clusters?
What is a cluster?
A cluster is a group of computers that work together. This tightly knit group acts, in many ways, as a single computer. Clusters are used to solve problems that a lone computer cannot. Click here to learn more about clusters.
Is a cluster a grid?
A grid can be a cluster, but this is not always the case. You may have heard the terms "grid" and "cluster" used interchangeably but they are different. Please click here to learn more about clusters.
Can I benefit from a cluster?
Anyone who has data to process or wants to process something quickly can benefit from a cluster. We offer these services.
