• What is CloudRender?

  CloudRender is a rendering add-in for Autodesk^® Revit^® Architecture. Instead of rendering scenes locally, it renders on the cloud, enabling you to continue working in Revit.

• How do I render walkthroughs on the cloud?

  Use our CloudRender add-in to submit the walkthrough.

• Does a scene rendered in Revit and with CloudRender look the same?

  Yes, but the cloud renders faster.

• Is this a Revit render farm?

  Essentially. Our scenes and walkthroughs render using Revit technology - including the same camera view, entourage, plants, custom materials and families, lighting, sun, sky, and transparency options while using the same rendering engine as Revit: mental ray^®.

• Which versions of Revit do you support?

  We support Autodesk Revit Architecture 2011, 2012, and 2013. For earlier versions, please contact us.

• What will a render cost?

  Each scene will be priced after previewed. Upload your image, preview it, and receive a price. Send us your walkthrough and you will receive a quote.

• Who owns the data?

  You do! You maintain ownership of all data uploaded to our servers and all images rendered. Your clients will not know you rendered with us.

• Why is my preview image dark?

  Make sure you are using the same exposure value as Revit you found from your draft render you did locally. If it is still too dark, you may need to decrease your exposure value.

• What is cloud computing?

  Cloud computing is internet-based computing. By using the cloud, you can utilize a group of computers. This tightly knit group acts, in many ways, as a single computer. The cloud can be used to solve problems that a lone computer cannot, such as speeding up renders.

Student FAQ

Students face unique challenges as they learn to render in Revit. To help you, we have put together this FAQ of common questions from students.

• It is 2am and my project is due at 8am, help!

  While we do render very fast, we do not render instantly (yet). The render time will depend primarily on the number of pixels and the quality selected. You may be able to render a smaller image at a lower quality to meet your deadline.

• What exposure value should I use?

  You should first perform a draft quality render locally and adjust the exposure value to your satisfaction. That is the exposure value you should use on our service.
